It is strongly urged that you have them, as many mailservers will not accept mail from mailservers with no reverse DNS entry. You can double-check using the 'Reverse DNS Lookup' tool at the site if you recently changed your reverse DNS entry (it contacts your servers in real time; the reverse DNS lookups in the DNS report use our local caching DNS server). | FAIL | Domain A Lookup | ERROR: I couldn't find any A records for xxx.net.cn. But I did find a referral to www.xxx.net.cn. (and maybe others). If you want a website at xxx.net.cn (as well as www.xxx.net.cn), you will need an A record for xxx.net.cn. If you do not want a website at xxx.net.cn, you can ignore this error. |
